The thesis

Crypto already has enough coin flips.

Most on-chain “games” are just RNG wrapped in a UI. UnoChain is the opposite: a skill table where you stake SOL, play a classic color-matching card game, and the first player to empty their hand wins the escrowed pot.

We built it because Solana is fast enough for realtime play, and because wagering should feel like a match you can outplay — not a black box that drains wallets. Tables appear on a public lobby feed, everyone pays the same seat price, and when the last card hits the discard, the pot settles.

There is a transparent 2.5% settlement rake: half (1.25%) keeps the product online (servers, settlement, support), and half (1.25%) is used to buy back and burn. Creators can cancel empty tables and get their stake back minus a 1.25% cancel fee (stays in the pot).

Why it matters

A reason to sit down

Solana wallets already hold capital that wants action. The problem is not lack of venues — it is that too many of them hide the edge behind a spinner. UnoChain puts the edge where you can see it: in your hand, in your timing, and in how you read the table.

Color-matching battles are old enough that almost anyone can learn the rules in a minute, and deep enough that a good player still beats a reckless one over a session. That combination is rare in crypto. We wanted a product that feels like a card room on a high-speed chain, not a casino skin.

The lobby model is intentional. Hosts post a stake. Challengers join at that exact price. Spectators can watch live matches without touching the pot. Settlements write to a public history so you can see who got paid and how much rake left the table.

How a table works

Create. Fill seats. Play out. Pot pays winners.

Every table is a closed room with a fixed seat price. Once the last seat pays in, cards deal automatically and the match runs until someone empties their hand.

1. Post a stake

Pick a mode and a SOL amount per seat. Your deposit opens the table on the live lobby. Other players see the price before they join — no bait-and-switch.

2. Fill every seat

FFA tables are every player for themselves. Team tables (2v2–4v4) split the pot among the winning side. When the last seat pays in, the deal starts automatically.

3. Outplay, then settle

Match colors and ranks, burn specials, call UNO. First empty hand ends it. Escrow pays the winner (or winning team) after the rake. History keeps a public record.

Formats

Built for heads-up and squads

Free-for-all is pure duel energy — one winner takes what remains after rake. Team modes share the win: the first teammate to go out wins for the whole side, and the pot splits evenly.

1v1Two seats. Pure skill. Fastest path to a decision.
1v1v1Three-way free-for-all. Pressure from both sides.
1v1v1v1Four players, one pot. Chaos with structure.
2v2Teams of two. Split the win. Call the UNO together.
3v3Six seats. Squad pressure and longer arcs.
4v4Full table. Maximum seats, maximum noise.

Rules primer

What you are actually playing

UnoChain uses familiar color-matching rules: play a card that matches the current color or the same rank/type as the top discard. Skips jump the next seat. Reverses flip direction. Draw Twos force the next player to take cards.

Wilds rewrite the color. Wild +4 is restricted — only when you hold no card of the current color. Down to one card, call UNO or risk the penalty. First empty hand ends the match and triggers settlement.

Turns are authoritative on the game server. The UI highlights your move, dims illegal cards, and lets spectators watch public state without revealing hidden hands.

Money & trust

Where the SOL sits

In production, seat stakes lock into escrow when you create or join. The game server runs the rules in realtime; settlement pays winners and takes a 2.5% rake only at settle — 1.25% for operations, 1.25% for buyback & burn.

Demo mode lets you learn the table without deploying the program. Empty open tables can be cancelled — Live SOL refunds keep a 1.25% cancel fee in the pot. UnoChain is not affiliated with Mattel. Play responsibly; wagering laws vary by place.

House edge

Why we take 2.5%

A zero-rake skill product does not stay online. The 2.5% cut at payout splits evenly: 1.25% funds maintaining UnoChain (servers, settlement, support), and 1.25% goes to buyback and burn. No hidden mid-hand fees, no deposit tax.

You always see the rake in the create-table preview before you post. That is the entire table-layer business model.

FAQ

Straight answers

Is this pure luck?
No. The shuffle is random, but every turn is a decision. Over a match, better play wins more often than worse play.
Can I watch without staking?
Yes. Open any live table from the lobby and spectate. You see public state; you do not see other players’ hands.
What happens if a lobby never fills?
Creator can cancel while nobody else has joined. Live SOL refunds keep a 1.25% cancel fee in the pot; settlement rake (2.5%) only applies when a match finishes.
Do I need a wallet?
Connect Phantom or Solflare, or tap Create wallet to generate a Solana address and private key in your browser — fund it with SOL and play. A demo identity is used only if you skip both.
Is this official UNO?
No. UnoChain is independent. We use color-matching rules people already understand — we do not claim Mattel affiliation.
